Accommodations: Guest rooms occupy the main 12-story tower. Amenities include air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, in-room safe, mini-bar, bathrobes, hairdryer, and iron/ironing board. Room service is available day and night. Most rooms feature balconies with views of the ocean or mountains, and are furnished with loveseats and cocktail tables. NOTE: Corner rooms lack balconies. Rooms have either 1 king or 2 double beds.
Dining & Entertainment: Located in the marble atrium of the lobby, Veranda serves buffet-style meals with a spread of international fare, and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Don Quijote is an a la carte restaurant specializing in gourmet Spanish cuisine, and requires a dress code and reservations. NOTE: The All-Inclusive plan allows dining at Don Quijote once per 3-night stay, and twice per 7-night stay. Additional dining at this restaurant incurs surcharges. La Palapa is open from early afternoon till early evening, and serves buffet-style meals poolside. Caracol is another poolside spot, open from early afternoon till early evening for snacks, informal meals, and beverages. Drinks are served at 2 bars, including a swim-up bar. Nightly theatrical productions and live music provide entertainment after dark.
Recreation: Soak and swim in 2 pools and a Jacuzzi, and sunbathe on poolside lounge chairs. More loungers are available on the beach, where thatch-roof palapas provide shade. A kids' club provides safe, organized activities for travelers ages 5-12. Land athletics include tennis on 4 lighted courts, beach volleyball, horseback riding, and a fitness center. NOTE: Use of the fitness center and tennis courts requires a reservation. Scuba diving, snorkeling, water polo, and pool volleyball are among the water sports options. For golfers, the nearby par 72 Palma Real Golf Course offers 18 challenging fairways set amid the Ixtapa countryside. Off-site excursions include trips to Ixtapa Island, a lagoon, and a local fishing village.
