Accommodations: The guest rooms are housed within 2-story pastel bungalows. Views are of the ocean or gardens, and guests can request specific accommodations at the time of reservation. As you would expect, the Sea View rooms have the best views. Deluxe rooms are more spacious, with a bedrooms and living areas separated by sliding doors, and balconies. Amenities include air-conditioning, TV, phone, mini-fridge, in-room safe, iron/ironing board, and hairdryer.
Dining & Entertainment: The Samana is the main restaurant, located near the lagoon-style pool and open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The Hispanola is open for lunch and dinner, and serves an extensive international buffet in an open-air setting with views of the water. Drinks are served at several bars, including the Isabel, which overlooks the pool and ocean, and the Tiburon Bar, set alongside the beach, with a dance floor to liven things up after dark. Guests enjoy nightly live entertainment performed in the theater.
Recreation: The circus school teaches adults and children to perform aerial acrobatics on the flying trapeze. There are 14 tennis courts, 9 of which are lit for night play. Group tennis lessons are available for travelers ages 6 years and older, and 1-on-1 instruction is also available, though at an extra cost. Coral reefs and shipwrecks make for amazing snorkeling. Other water sports include kayaking, sailing, and windsurfing. On land there is beach volleyball, archery, basketball, and rollerblading. A variety of therapeutic massages are provided at the wellness center. The fitness center offers a full range of exercise equipment, as well as a variety of classes including aquarobics, dance, and bodybuilding classes. There's a nursery for infants, a mini-club for kids 4-10 years old, and a club for the 11-17 year-old crowd.
