Accommodations: There are 9 categories of guest rooms and suites, offering full and partial views of the ocean, and views of the gardens and nearby mountains. All are equipped with balconies (called lanais on the islands) or patios, air-conditioning, TVs, telephones with voicemail, high-speed internet access, in-room safes, coffee makers with complimentary Kona coffee, bathrobes, hairdryers, and iron/ironing boards. Baths include tubs and are marble-accented. Suites, Deluxe, and Club Rooms are more spacious, and offer a variety of upgraded amenities. Dining & Entertainment: Dondero's has seating available in a villa-style dining room and an alfresco terrace, and a menu that features innovative Italian fare like the Handcrafted Black Ink Lasagna (with scallops, shrimp, crab, and lobster) and Okinawan Sweet Potato Gnocchi. Ilima Terrace serves breakfast buffet-style and a la carte, as well as sandwiches, wraps, and salads for lunch. Tidepools offers award-winning, authentic Hawaiian cuisine, with dishes like Grilled Ahi Tataki with Snapper Sashimi and Grilled Mahi Mahi. The Kauai Luau is a must, with an elaborate buffet, open bar, hula lessons, and a spectacular demonstration of ancestral dance.

Recreation: There is a winding, freshwater river-pool, a 150-foot waterslide, and a saltwater lagoon where you can swim, snorkel, and kayak. Sunbathe and walk along the sands of Shipwreck Beach, and head to Poipu Beach for swimming and surf lessons. NOTE: No lifeguard is posted at Shipwreck Beach, and strong currents can make swimming unsafe. Always swim with another person, and pay attention to the posted warning flags. Stop by the tennis garden for daily clinics and round-robin tournaments. Club Hyatt entertains travelers 5-12 years with activities like lei making, feeding koi fish, and interactive encounters with talkative parrots. Local attractions include botanical gardens, historic sugar plantations, adventure activities, and the spectacular Wailua Falls.
