Set near the banks of the Sassagoula River, cascades of bright bougainvillea add color to the property’s quaint cobblestone streets and quiet courtyards. The smell of freshly baked beignets, a New Orleans’ specialty, adds authenticity to the atmosphere.

One of the best-loved facilities at this festive resort is the Doubloon Lagoon, a themed pool with a jazz-loving sea serpent that "swallows" the daring and sends them on a slippery slide into the water. The pool also features alligator fountains.

Beyond the pool, guests can rent pedal boats, pontoon boats and canopy boats at the marina, take a bicycle ride, play a game of croquet or head out to tee-off at one of Disney’s five championship golf courses. Afterwards, refreshment awaits at Bonfamille’s Cafe, a casual courtyard restaurant serving New Orleans’ favorites, and at Sassagoula’sFloatworks and Food Factory, a food court where guests can dine around Mardi Gras Parade props in a warehouse-style setting.
